Thurston County’s only membership based ceramics studio.

Why the

Flipped Pot?

The Flipped Pot is not your average pottery studio. I am taking the expectation of a traditional pottery studio, and flipping it over to provide you with more. More freedom. More options. More space. More of what you love. The Flipped Pot is for all levels; from the very beginning, to those looking to revive a lost passion, to the experienced.

Come to the Flipped Pot if you want…

  • To be inspired and supported to make pottery your way.

  • Full-Time studio access that fits your schedule.

  • To take a class, experiment, or be self-taught.

  • To have built-in access to a teacher and problem-solver.

  • A supportive community where learning and growth are central.

  • An open source ceramic studio where you can work at your own pace.

  • A welcoming environment full of like-minded creators.

At the Flipped Pot, expect to find your passion!

Mission:

To provide a full-access ceramics studio supporting aspiring and established artists in their desire to practice their craft, their way.

Vision:

To maintain an enriching community where every member has access to everything they need to succeed.

Founder, Owner

Hi! My name is Jessica St.Louis (she/her). I am the owner and operator of the Flipped Pot Ceramics Studio. Like many of you, I found my passion for art and ceramics in a formal classroom years ago, however also like many of you, I found it difficult to maintain once I left that structured environment.

That is why I want to bring the Flipped Pot to you. I want you to have what I always wanted; full-time access to a complete ceramics studio. At the Flipped Pot, you don’t have to put your passion away. You can continue to make pottery, and you can do it your way, on your time schedule.

After spending 15 years in education I found only one thing to be true. There’s as many ways to learn something as there is learner’s. The pandemic, and distance education has made this even more prevalent. Sometimes what a learner needs is for the teacher to get out of the way! I have found this to be even more true when it comes to art, creativity and self-expression. It’s an intimate journey for all of us, and we each need to find our own way through it. The Flipped Pot is here to provide different paths to learning. Not defined, but rather multiple. You can sign up for my crash-course into throwing, take a structured workshop, or bring in your ipad and learn from online videos. Do it whatever way you want, just so long as you do it. At the Flipped Pot you can follow your passion. Say yes to happiness. And I’ll be around, loading the kiln, mixing clay, and always happy to answer your questions, or tell you what to do with that magic water.

You bring the passion.

I’ll create the space.
